星期三到 long beach 的一個 lab 抽血做測驗。很久沒踏進實驗室，覺得有點熟悉也有點親切。實驗室的 receptionist 帶我下樓去繳錢的時候，我開口跟他聊了一下，稱讚這裡工作環境良好，我以前也在實驗室工作。他笑笑，然後問我：

receptionist (R): what do you do now?

me (J): now i am in the seminary, getting ready to be a pastor in the future.

R: hmm..... (5 seconds) so what do you do over there? putting makeup on them or dressing them up?

J (5 seconds and realized what's going on): i am in the se-mi-na-ry, not a ce-me-te-ry.

小姐：那你現在做什麼呢？

我：我在神學院，預備將來當牧師。

小姐：嗯...... 〈稍微想了一下〉所以你都做些什麼？幫他們化妝還是穿衣服？

我〈理解他在說什麼以後〉：我在神學院 (seminary)，不是在公墓 (cemetery)。

那個小姐真的不知道什麼是 seminary，他追問我那是什麼，我跟他說 the school to study theology，他說喔了以後就因為實在太尷尬不跟我聊天了。
